Joseph D. Precanico
Born and raised in South ³Ô¹ÏÍø, Joseph Dante Precanico graduated with a BA in English from ³Ô¹ÏÍø International University and earned his MFA in Creative Writing from ³Ô¹ÏÍø.
Prior to academia, he worked in both the public and private sectors, as a civil servant for the city of Fort Lauderdale and as an editor for company websites, respectively.
His poetry, short fiction, and essays have appeared in a variety of publications, including Salamander, Permafrost, The Rumpus, and South ³Ô¹ÏÍø Poetry Journal. His work has been nominated several times by editors for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net. One of his essays was selected as notable for Best American Essays 2024.
Currently, Joseph works as an Instructor of English at FAU and as Assistant Director for the University Center for Excellence in Writing (UCEW). He lives in Plantation, FL with his husband and three cats.
