Faculty members praised them as “clearly someone their fellow students look to as an example of character--always positive, always curious, always eager to participate.” One faculty member wrote the following about Mason-Sera’s presence in the classroom: “Mason was most responsible for setting the tone of eager and openly expressed interest. Their infectious personality opened up other students.” In addition, this faculty member praised Mason-Sera’s “fearlessness” in the face of challenging material. Finally, faculty members noted not only Mason-Sera’s ability to adapt and be unfazed by the sudden shift to online classes in Spring 2020 but also their willingness to help other students “beset by Covid-related difficulties.”
