Congratulations on graduating medical school and choosing psychiatry as your career. The field of psychiatry is unique among the specialties in modern medicine — it has always been the place where the mental and physical aspects of health connect. In psychiatry, the interplay of mind, brain, spirit, and culture is more than the latest philosophical twist in healthcare delivery; it is the field’s focus and foundation. As in society at large, psychiatry residency programs each have their own distinct culture and orientation, shaping you into a competent and thoughtful psychiatrist in their own way. Choosing the right program — one where your personality and goals align with its culture — is a crucial step in your professional growth and development.

The psychiatry residency program at ³Ô¹ÏÍø, located in Palm Beach County, is a young, ACGME-approved program that offers state-of-the-art training in an intimate, innovative setting — situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. We have recently strengthened our faculty with dynamic young psychiatrists and reconfigured our leadership. Our patient population is wonderfully diverse, and residents see a wide range of psychiatric presentations across the lifespan. We particularly take pride in the depth and breadth of our geriatric, addiction, ECT, and consultation-liaison training. Clinical rotations include Delray Medical Center, the West Palm Beach Veterans Administration Medical Center, Bethesda Hospital East, Rales Jewish Family Services, and our outpatient Psychiatric Specialty Center.

Throughout your training, you will receive extensive mentorship and supervision. Though our program is small, our psychotherapy training is not — residents receive substantial instruction in both psychodynamic therapy and CBT.

Whether you go on to private practice or pursue further fellowship training, you will be well prepared for the challenges awaiting psychiatrists in this century. And along the way, your four years here will be filled with camaraderie, sunshine, great shopping, wonderful beaches, Cuban Cuisine, and not a single day of cold weather!

That you are here—that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.
