Biography

Dr. Patricia Dittman is currently the Quality Improvement Coordinator and Nationally Certified Diabetes Educator at the FAU/NCHA Community Health Clinics. She is a well-known national speaker, researcher and author on topics that include nursing diabetes, administration and leadership, nursing research, policy and nursing image. She has been an active member of the ³Ô¹ÏÍø Organization of Nurse Executives serving on the Board of Directors, Co-chairperson FONE Research /EBP Committee, and the FONE Strategic Planning.

Dr. Dittman was appointed to the ³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Nursing from 2002 – 2008 and elected as the Chairperson from 2004-2007. Dr. Dittman (2021 to present) serves on the ³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Nursing Probable Cause Panel which is responsible for the determination of infraction of the State of ³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s Nurse Practice Act. She is very involved in nursing policy on a state level and is a member of many professional nursing organizations. In 2007 Patricia was appointed to the National Council for State Boards of Nursing’s Institute of Regulatory Excellence Committee. Dr. Dittman is currently a Magnet Appraiser for the American Nurses Credentialing Center which is responsible for reviewing hospitals for Magnet status.

Dr. Dittman is also a recipient of the FAU’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing Distinguished Alumni Award, American Diabetes Association’s Valor Award and in 2018 received the Nurse Researcher Excellence Award from the ³Ô¹ÏÍø Organization of Nurse Executives. Dr. Dittman is the President of the Iota Xi Chapter-at-Large Sigma International Nursing Honor Society. Dr. Dittman is a Magnet Appraiser with the Magnet Recognition Program under the direction of The American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Nurses Association.
